Short: Transmit pictures via SSTV V0.1 Author: alexander.fritsch@icn.siemens.de (Alexander Fritsch) Uploader: alexander fritsch icn siemens de (Alexander Fritsch) Type: comm/misc Version: 0.1 Requires: OS3.0, a *real* Amiga, (Amiga-Chipset) Architecture: m68k-amigaos What it does: ------------- SSTV is a radio amateurs transmission mode for pictures mostly used on shortwave. This program reads a picture via datatypes and calculates the SSTV-noise for that image. The SSTV-noise is transmitted via the audio device. You can directly send the sound via radio or telephone. The mode currently supported by af_mksstv is Martin M1. This is the most often used mode here in europe. usage: af_mksstv picturefile A transmission in Martin M1 mode takes 114 seconds. The most critical part of SSTV is the exact timing. To solve this problem the audio-device is used. For this reason af_mksstv does not work on a draco and should not be used under UAE. The timing of af_mksstv is very accurate, so it can be used to calibrate other SSTV receivers. Tested: ------- af_mksstv has succesfully tested on a plain C=A12000 and a High-End-C=A4000T(060/50/604e/200) Both were PAL machines. Plain A500 or A2000 are to slow for the current implentation. I had no chance to test the program (the timing) on a NTSC Amiga. possible future enhancements ---------------------------- - Support other modes such as Scotty or Robot - Support slower machines (7 MHz, 68000) - Add a GUI - Add a SSTV receiver - Write a better documentation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The implementation of such enhancements depends on your response! Tell me what you think and what you want. Only then there is a chance for updates. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks: ------- Thanks go to Martin Emmerson, the inventor of the Martin modes.
