Short: YAM images in Iconographics format. Author: John Perry Type: pix/icon Architecture: m68k-amigaos I recently downloaded the YAM 2.0 preview from the official YAM site (what a great program!) and quickly got down to drawing Iconographics-style images for YAM. I don't know that anyone else besides me actually uses Iconographics anymore, but here's hoping someone else can use it. I prefer Iconographics to other icon collections because the first four palette colors are standard (unlike the gorgeous pastel icon set) and the overhead is low (unlike another ingenious and flexible icon set). Unlike previous icon collections of mine (AWebIGfx, JPIGfx), this one is somewhat more original as far as the icons go. That is, I didn't use the Iconographics Construction set so much, and my icons have a different look than those included with YAM. The "status" icons in particular are different; I hope they're not so different as to have lost their meaning! To see what the set looks like, you can take a look at the "Preview" file. If you are absolutely certain you want to use my images, then run the provided installation script FROM THE WORKBENCH. (It's not an Amiga OS Installer script and I don't think it will run correctly from the shell.) The installation sript will back up your old icons in case you change your mind. (However, you will have to deinstall them by hand... which isn't too hard, really.) I have included the Iconographics palette, which is necessary for anyone like me who does not run NewIcons. I apologize to all the artists out there. It should be obvious I'm not one of their number. I have not yet created toolbars of selected images, but I expect to do so in the near future. Iconographics was created by Tom Ekström, and this set of images for YAM makes use of some of his work. I am indebted to Marcel Beck for helping me figure out what width the icons were supposed to be. Also for YAM itself... (Did I mention it was a great program?) If you would like to contact me to berate me or just to comment on the images, or even to request special Iconographics-style icons, please write: jperry37@ix.netcom.com This product is absolutely free and in the public domain. In fact, there is no guarantee that this product won't destroy your machine. (On the other hand, I have no idea what it could possibly do except confuse your icons!) I've written the installer so that it will make backups, but I can't guarantee against the unforeseen. (On the other hand, I did test the installer myself!) Se lei è Italiano, i miei auguri. (Mia madre è Italiana e mi ha imparato un po' della lingua.)
