Short: Stats generator for AWS 2.0beta5 Author: Dannyman Uploader: Dannyman Type: comm/net Replaces: comm/net/dannylog* Architecture: m68k-amigaos Welcome to Dannylog. A logfile parser written especially for AWS, the Amiga Web Server. *** NOTE! *** This version of Dannylog is designed to parse AWS 2.0 beta 5 logfiles. For parsing of earlier AWS logfiles, see dannylog-alpha4.lha available through all distribution sites mentioned here, except AMINET. This software is freeware, though I would appreciate an email, postcard, or what-have-you. To get in contact with me; Email: dannyman@uiuc.edu WWW: http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/djhoward Post: Daniel Howard 7310 N Claremont Chicago, IL 60645-1808 United States *** Features *** Provides stats files on requesting hosts, requested files, and referers, other records to follow. Provides error output on any record not matching status 200. This will be improved upon. Error output is not meant for statistics-keeping, but is meant to be easy-to-read to alert operators of problems, for trouble-shooting. *BIG FEATURE* Can re-read statsfiles so that you don't have to repeatedly process your log, and you can delete it. :) Included is a utiltity to extract interesting statistics about genertated outputs. *** New features to this release *** Re-compiling with high optimization using libnix, providing larger, yet faster binaries and no legal obligation to make source publically available. Now outputs log comment fields along with error reports, particularly handy for 600 error reports returned by AWS. Mike Meyer, author of AWS, has mentioned the possibility of making these error codes more explicit in future versions. *** Availability *** Most recent binaries available through http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/djhoward/dev/ Most recent binaries also available throgh Dannybot on ARCnet. telnet to port 5555 or use IRC client on one of the following servers; us1.clchat.vapor.com us2.clchat.vapor.com us3.clchat.vapor.com us4.clchat.vapor.com it.clchat.vapor.com de.clchat.vapor.com Tell Dannybot the exact following; Dannybot send dannylog-a6.lha Dannybot also has other files. Ask him what with the "new" command, but do it in private or you'll flood channels! ;) Occasional interesting releases will be made to AMINET (ftp://wuarchive.wustl.edu/pub/aminet ... duh!) *** Disclaimer *** Dannylog is a work-in-progress. Additional information is available at http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/djhoward/dev/ Dannylog is still in Alpha version. It should not crash your system, though if it does, I'd certainly like to hear about it! It is not very glamorous at this point and has far to go before it's much to look at. This documentation file was simply whipped-up one-the-fly, so it's probably not the most valuable resource either. If you would like to see more development, I'd appreciate words of encouragement, suggestions, etc. :) *** Important Note *** t10 REQUIRES at least 8k of stack! If you do not set this, you risk crashing, BIG TIME! Dannyman reccomends saying "stack 10000" before running t10! Dannylog expects that in the directory from which you run it that there be a directory called stats this is where Dannylog sends most output.
